UBE Machinery Corporation, Ltd. (President: Hironori Miyauchi), the core company of the UBE Group’s machinery business, has launched a newly developed die casting machine for giga casting, a form of die casting technology that uses aluminum alloy to integrally mold body structure parts for battery electric vehicles (BEVs), etc. The newly developed machine offers the largest die clamping force, at 9,000 metric tons, for a die casting machine to be delivered domestically in Japan.
UBE Machinery is also adding this die casting machine with 9,000-metric-ton die clamping force to its standard lineup, as the UH9000. Going forward, UBE Machinery will continue contributing to innovations in automotive industry manufacturing by providing ultra-large die casting machinery for giga casting.

Die casting is a method of producing a wide range of metal products such as automotive engine parts. It works by injecting light alloy, which has been heated to a high temperature and melted, into a die. A machine that enables die casting is called a die casting machine. Since manufacturing its first die casting machine in 1962, UBE Machinery has continuously worked to innovate die casting technology and develop die casting machines that meet the needs of the times.
Giga casting is a casting technology that uses ultra-large die casting machinery to integrally cast single-piece automotive body structure parts that previously consisted of multiple pieces. It can significantly reduce the number of parts and manufacturing processes compared to conventional methods.
